World Cup star】 10:23, July 17, 2002 出典不明
Southampton's attempts to bring Lee Chun Soo to St Mary's have been scuppered
by his current employers
Saints boss Gordon Strachan wanted to take South Korea's international
forward Lee Chun Soo on a ten-day trial with a view to striking a permanent
deal if the player impressed.
However, the player's current club, Korean Republic League side Ulsan
Hyundai, have blocked the move. They will not release Lee until Christmas
time at the earliest.
With the 2002/2003 Premiership season due to start in a few week's time,
Strachan is expected to pursue other avenues in an effort to find a forward
who is more readily available.
However the fact that Ecuadorian striker Augustin Delgado continues to
stay away from St Mary's and the fact that Lee featured in all seven of
South Korea's amazing matches at this summer's World Cup finals may persuade
Strachan to keep tabs on the Asian player for another five months. |
